From the recording A Light in the Darkness

This quirky, bluesy rock song isn't afraid to admit that love, as amazing as it is, "ain't all roses and it ain't all wine". Written for my wife with a nod to her love of Halloween, Hand Me Your Heart could be a love song by Edgar Allen Poe. "Hand me your head and I will hand you my heart, only love could keep us apart. You cut me deep and got into my blood, my wounds fit you just like a glove". Of course, this is very tongue-in-cheek, and in the end, life long love shines through brilliantly, "my baby, my friend, I'll be with you until the end - my heart, my soul, your love has made me whole."

Lyrics

Hand Me Your Heart

Hand me your head and I will hand you my heart
Only love could keep us apart
You cut me deep and got into my blood
My wounds fit you just like a glove
Your words can heal and your love can bite
when love fits its get a little bit tight

Hand me your dreams and I will unearth mine
It ain't all roses and it ain’t all wine now
But it's as sweet as ever it could be
Take off your chains and baby set me free
Touch me deep and hand me your heart
and forever ... never will we part

The clock is ticking and the night is young
then life is long and the song is sung
Give me a lift and help me along
give me a chance to write a love song

Hand me your head and I will hand you my heart
love could never keep us apart
The clock is laughing and the sound is sweet
I'm only kidding babe I'm feeling the heat
The clock is howling and the night is young
then life is long and the song is sung

My heart, my soul
your love has made me whole
My baby, my friend
I’ll be with you until the end
