It's Your Time to Shine was written as a motivational rocker with a real go-get-'em attitude. I had an opportunity to write and submit a song for a sports channel brief that was looking for a powerhouse rock song to use to add excitement to sports event broadcasting. I jumped on it and wrote this fun rocker, enjoying writing lyrics that would encourage the listener to pursue their dreams. Along the way, my producer and I were super fortunate to connect with Harry Waters - an awesome keyboard player (who happens to be the son of Roger Waters of Pink Floyd fame) - who added a great Fender Rhodes track to kick it up a notch! Rock on and follow those dreams ya'll - I did!
